Commissioner Presley Statement Calling For A Special Session In Light Of Tate Reeves’ Failure To Lead And Restore Mississippians’ Right To Petition
Following the news that the Senate failed to consider legislation that would restore the ballot initiative process and Tate Reeves’ refusal to say whether he would call a special session to restore Missippians’ right to petition their government, Commissioner Presley released the following statement.
Nettleton, MS – Following the news that the Senate failed to consider legislation that would restore the ballot initiative process and Tate Reeves’ refusal to say whether he would call a special session to restore Missippians’ right to petition their government, Commissioner Presley released the following statement:
“As governor, I would call a special session immediately to restore the people’s right to vote through the ballot initiative. Tate Reeves won’t do it because it doesn’t help himself personally or his little club of buddies. Tate’s number one priority is always Tate, not us.”
